Well I chased old Satan down the lane And I hit him on the head with a walking cane I'm gonna wear that starry crown Over thar Over thar Over thar over thar I'm gonna wear that starry crown over thar Cause I got no skillet and I got no lid The ash cakes taste like shortening bread And I'm gonna wear that starry crown over thar Well I chased old Satan round the stump And I hit him on the head every time he jumped I'm gonna wear that starry crown Over thar Over thar TWell I chased old Satan through the door And I hit him on the head with a two by four I'm gonna wear that starry crown Over thar Over thar Well I chased old Satan round the shed And I hit him with a shovel upside the head I'm gonna wear that starry crown Over thar Over thar

Ten years ago, on a cold dark night, there was someone killed 'neath the town hall light. There were few at the scene, but they all agreed that the slayer who ran looked a lot like me She walks these hills in a long black veil. She visits my grave while the night wind wails. Nobody knows, nobody sees Nobody knows but me. The judge said "Son, what is your alibi? If you were somewhere else, then you won't have to die." Well, I said not a word, though it meant my life For I'd been in the arms of my best friends wife. The scaffold was high, and eternity neared She stood in the crowd and shed not a tear. But sometimes at night, when the cold wind blows In a long black veil, she cries over my bones.

Are you washed in the blood, In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing pow’r? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright, And be washed in the blood of the Lamb? Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin, And be washed in the blood of the Lamb; There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean, Oh, be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

about

Old time music infused with the loneliness of being an ocean away from home and the excitement and energy of living in the capital of the world's new rising power. This is string band music played fast and hard to capture the attention of a bar audience, and prime them for square dancing. This studio album attempts to cover the energy and feel of the Hutong Yellow Weasels' live sound they developed during constant gigging in Beijing and throughout China in 2014. Many of these songs were learned directly from fiddler Michael Ismerio as the Weasels accompanied him on a tour through China in September 2013. However, they became leaner and faster each time the Weasels played them, as the banded competed with WeChat, Facebook, and drunken conversation for the audience's attention.
